  • Our Membership in the major national and regional associations serving the retirement housing industries ensures that our clients receive the most current information available.  Mr. Chellis has served as President of the New England Gerontological Association and Treasurer of the Association of Massachusetts Homes for the Aging. 

  • Our Research  Currently Mr. Chellis and Ms. Silva  are planning a national symposium entitled “Redefining Retirement Communities.”  This program will address how best to meet the baby boomers’ new expectations of retirement, and is planned for October 2001. 

Robert Dana Chellis, MPH, LNHA, CHM, initiated and followed to completion the first continuing care campus in Massachusetts, has testified on life care before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, and appeared on Ted Koppel’s special “Aging in the 21st Century.” Published work includes “Congregate Housing for the Elderly,” Lexington Books, D.C. Heath, 1981, and “Life Care: A Long Term Solution,” Lexington Books, D.C. Heath, 1990, both products of conferences funded by the Charles Farnsworth Trust, hosted by Harvard University, and organized by Mr. Chellis.  He is a board member of the Springhouse continuing care community, board member and past president of Senior Living, Inc. and the New England Gerontological Association, past president of National Lifecare Corporation and has been a trustee of, and consultant to, homes for the aging for over 30 years.  Mr. Chellis received his B.A. from Princeton University, and his M.P.H. in health services administration from Harvard University.

Susan Correa Silva, M.Arch, designed the first continuing care retirement community in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles and as developer, architect and owner reconstructed over 200,000 square feet of commercial properties.  As Vice President of Five Seas Development Corporation, Ms. Silva focused on market research and strategic planning for developments in the Caribbean.  She is a board member of the Springhouse continuing care community, an advisor to the board of the New England Gerontological Association, secretary of the Exeter Alumni Association of New England, and past president of the Harvard Graduate Council.  An American and Dutch citizen who grew up in Latin America and the Caribbean, Ms. Silva received her B.S.E. in Entrepreneurial Management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and her Master in Architecture from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
